In the Spotlight this week is the 4th Annual HOBOKEN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (HIFF), taking place in New Jersey's artistic center. HIFF events are held in the area's most scenic locations, with waterfront views of the majestic New York City skyline.
A jury comprised of Academy and Emmy Award winners will judge all official film, pilot, and screenplay selections. And HIFF's star-studded events, Oscar-inspired galas, and celebrations attract plenty of media attention, helping filmmakers reach further to promote their films. This year's Festival will be honoring Academy Award winner Cloris Leachman with the 2009 HIFF Lifetime Achievement Award; previous recipients include Billy Dee Williams and Charles Durning.
The Festival will award cash prizes up to $1000 USD in multiple categories of entry, honoring the Festival's best films, filmmakers, actors, and unproduced screenplays. What's more, the 2009 Grand Prize for the Best Feature Film will be a distribution deal offer from Lightyear Entertainment.
